FERRIDAY — Services for Robert Guida, 79, of Lake St. John, who died Tuesday, March 28, 2017, in Ferriday, will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Paul Kunnumpuram officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Mr. Guida was born Jan. 13, 1938, in Messina, Italy, the son of Luigi and Carlotta Lobb Guida.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Mr. Guida received a degree in chemical engineering from Louisiana Tech University and a master’s degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati.
He worked for Proctor and Gamble domestically and abroad. He also farmed on Lake St. John for 25 years before he began teaching online classes for Bellevue University.
Mr. Guida was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Emily Miller Guida; one daughter, Sandra Guida of St. Joseph; four sons, Ricky Guida and wife, Libby, of Atlanta, Greg Guida and wife, Elena, of Gulfport, Mark Guida of Texas, and Andy Guida and wife, Stephanie, of Natchez; five grandsons, Sam Kirby, Will Guida, Matt Guida, Jake Guida and John Preston Guida; and four granddaughters, Michie Guida, Addie Guida, Lillie Guida and Olivia Claire Guida.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
