Area basketball stars reel in honors

Two areas basketball players were named to their respective All-MAIS Teams Thursday.
Trinity Episcopal’s David Jackson was named to the Class AA Boys roster, while Adams County Christian School’s Bailey Boyd Class AAA girls roster.
Both Jackson and Boyd were one of six players named, and the honors cap off the end to each standout’s senior year.
“She has worked so hard since she was little, and I am so proud of her,” ACCS coach Melanie Hall. “Her heart is in basketball. This is quite an achievement… Win or lose, to God be the Glory.”
Jackson and Boyd were also both participated in the MAIS All-Star games for each of their classes.
“Obviously his work throughout the postseason and in the All-Star game earned him a place with this elite group,” Trinity coach Andy Blair said. “I’m excited because this is just the end of the beginning to the things he will do in his career.”
The Lady Rebels and Saints both finished out their season by claiming their district titles and South State championships.
The Trinity boys finished with a 21-5 mark, and ACCS girls ended at 24-7.
