Heavy rain and thunderstorms that roared through the Miss-Lou between Wednesday night and early Thursday morning led to the postponement of several local baseball and softball games that were to take place Thursday afternoon.
Vidalia High School’s junior varsity and varsity baseball home games against LHSAA District 3-3A foe Marksville High School have been rescheduled for today with the JV game at 4 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6 p.m., Vikings head coach Mike Norris said.
Monterey High School’s baseball and softball teams were both scheduled to host LHSAA District 5-B opponent Glenmora High School, but those games were rained out and will take place at a later date to be determined.
Block High School’s softball team’s home game against LHSAA District 3-1A rival Montgomery High School was also a victim of the inclement weather and has been postponed until next Monday, Lady Bears head coach Bo Sproles said.
More heavy rain and possible severe weather is forecast for the region starting late Sunday and going into next Monday, which could force the game to be rescheduled yet again.
