Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals and The Markets would like to invite you to come join us for the 2nd Annual Color Natchez 5K on April 29.  Color Natchez is a 5K fun run that will be held throughout the streets of Downtown Natchez.  But what makes this different from a regular 5K?  By the end of the fun run, you will be covered in all kinds of colors! Over 700 people participated last year for this great event!

Young Professionals meet monthly to get to know more about this area and to promote Natchez as well as recruit others to relocate here. We have grown to over 150 members and have increasingly become more involved in this community.   If you are looking for a family-friendly occasion in Natchez that will be entertaining and healthy, then the Color Natchez 5K is the event for you!

So how does it work?  You start the dash, or walk if that is more your speed, by wearing white (a white t-shirt is included in your registration package).  Then, as you proceed through the course, you are splashed with either blue, green, yellow, orange, or pink powdery-goodness that is 100 percent non-toxic, food grade cornstarch and coloring!

The race will begin and end on Broadway Street in front of the Natchez Grand Hotel by the Rotary fountain overlooking the Mississippi River.  Pick-up registration packets either Friday night, April 28, 5-8 p.m. at the Barrel Room at Bowies, or 8 a.m. before the 10 a.m. race on Saturday.  The race will conclude with a Color Explosion, music, food, beer and fun.

Signing up is easy!  Either go to the event on Facebook titled Color Natchez 5K and click on the link, or go to www.colornatchez5k.com   The cost to enter the Color Natchez 5K begins at $40 with packages available for families. Children 5 and under are free!

Need another reason to participate?  Through 2017 Leadership Natchez Class participation, part of the proceeds will go to refurbish playground equipment at Duncan Park. Also, the school with the largest amount of participation in the area will win $500!   Cathedral School won this title last year. Just enter your school  as your “team” when you register.   Two incredible ways to give back to our community!

A fun filled run full of color, and an event that is all Natchez — Come for the color. Stay for the party.
