Mr. and Mrs. Darryl Bassett announces the engagement of their daughter, Meishalette D. Bassett to Roderick A. Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Allen, all of Natchez.

The bride-to-be is a 2009 graduate of Natchez High School and 2013 graduate of Alcorn State University. She is employed by Adams County Nursing Center where she is the social services director and admissions coordinator. She is also employed by Ascend Management Innovations where she is an ICAP assessor for the State of Mississippi.

She is the granddaughter of Martha A. Green and the late Walter “Sonny” Green and the late Huey “Honey” Bassett and the late Fannie Bassett.

The groom-to-be is a 2008 graduate of Natchez High School and is employed by Natchez City Sight Seeing where he manages the Hop On Hop Off buses and is a driver. He also is employed by Monmouth Historic Inn and Gardens as a landscaper and is employed by the Grand Hotel in the maintenance department.

He is the grandson of Walker Eady and Martha Eady and Oleavy Allen and the late Robert Allen.

The wedding will be 4 p.m., Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Natchez.

A reception will immediately follow the ceremony at the Louis Gunning Safe House.

Family and friends are invited.
