NATCHEZ — A Natchez woman was arrested Tuesday for reportedly stabbing a man in the back three times at a Lewis Drive residence.

Natchez Police Department Lt. Julius Steele said Tabitha Renee Smith, 38, 137 Lewis Drive, was charged with aggravated assault — use of a deadly weapon for the April 21 stabbing.

Steele said Smith reportedly stabbed the victim after he made a disparaging comment about her.

The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, Steele said.

Smith remained in the Natchez City Jail Wednesday without a bond.
