VICKSBURG — Services for Betty Jean Upton, 74, of Vicksburg, who died Monday, May 8, 2017, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home in Vicksburg with the Rev. Brian Ivey officiating.

Burial will follow at Bay Springs City Cemetery in Bay Springs under the direction of Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Upton was the daughter of W.O. and Willie Merle Meadows. She was a homemaker and worked for a number of years for Private Home Care.

Betty Jean was a member of Highland Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Carl Marshall Upton Sr.; three sisters, Louise Langford, Beatrice Pitts and Elaine Neely; and two brothers, Buddy Meadows and Willard Meadows Jr.

Survivors include three sons, Carl Marshall Upton Jr. and wife, Pat, of Vicksburg, Charles Jeffery Upton and wife, Sonya, of Natchez, and Craig William Upton and wife, Debra, of Clinton; six grandchildren, Carl Marshall Upton III and wife, April,  Caleb Joshua Upton, Cameron Robert Upton, Caitlyn Celeste Upton, Casey William Upton and Codey Warren Upton; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Wilson Meadows and Charlie Meadows.

Pallbearers will be Carl Upton III, Caleb Upton, Cameron Upton, Casey Upton, Codey Upton, Bobby Davis, Wayne Divine and Bradley Henderson.
