FAYETTE — Services for James “Pop” Oliver Jr., 61, of Fayette, who died Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Jefferson County Nursing Home in Fayette, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Taylor’s Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Tracy Collins officiating.

Burial will follow in Gold Mount Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Marshal Funeral Home Chapel in Natchez and from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Mr. Oliver was born March 14, 1956, in Jefferson County, the son of James Oliver Sr. and Ida Rea January Oliver.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, James Oliver; one sister and two brothers.

Survivors include eight children, Tavonta (Alphonse) Malone, Connie (Jeffery) Bass, Treveon Oliver, Tyler Oliver, Jaboris  Oliver, Franchesca Reed, Jakeyia Oliver and Alexis Oliver; three grandchildren, Aiden Malone, Austin Malone and Olivia Bass; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
