Man shot to death in his bed Tuesday morning

NATCHEZ — A 32-year-old man was killed after being shot multiple times while sleeping in his bed early Tuesday morning by an apparent intruder.

Adams County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Jerry Brown said at approximately 2:45 a.m. investigators received a call from a mother who heard shots fired in her Southmoor Drive residence and found her son, Kelvin Sadler Brown, unresponsive in his bed.

Jerry Brown said Kelvin Brown was shot multiple times, including once in the head. He was dead when investigators arrived at approximately 3 a.m., Jerry Brown said.

Jerry Brown said the apparent intruder came in through a window in the front of the house and exited through the back kitchen door.

Jerry Brown said Kelvin Brown had been the victim of a shooting on Southmoor Drive on May 1. Kelvin Brown was shot multiple times after an apparent confrontation with a shooter and was airlifted to a Jackson hospital.

Jerry Brown said the sheriff’s office has some leads, but he asks anyone with information to call the sheriff’s office at 601-442-2752 or come forward with Crime Stoppers.
