NATCHEZ — Services for George Hoyette Henderson, 92, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at his residence, will be 1 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Keith Dowden officiating.

Burial with a graveside service will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Spring Branch Cemetery near Taylor, Ark., under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home in Magnolia, Ark.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home and from 3 p.m. until time of service Saturday at Spring Branch Baptist Church near Taylor.

Mr. Henderson was born Jan. 28, 1925, in Taylor, the son of William Daniel Henderson and Emma Mae Sullivan Henderson.

He was a veteran of World War II and of the Methodist faith.

Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Henderson; two sisters, Ruthie Teutsch and Iris O’Conner; two brothers, Roscoe and Frank Henderson; son-in-law, Don Goodger; and one grandchild, Anna Claire Simnicht.

Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Goodger of Pollock, La., and Georgean Till and husband, Russell, of Purvis; five grandchildren, Kim Simnicht, Tracey Easterling, George Goodger, Steve Goodger and Wain Goodger; 13 great grandchildren; and one sister, Francis Buzinski of Tallahassee, Fla.

Pallbearers will be George Goodger, Steve Goodger, Johnny Goodger, Don Goodger, Hoyt Goodger, and Kendal Goodger.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends and classmates from the class of 1943.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregivers, Theresa Zion and Rhonda Smith, Dr. Barry Tillman and Camellia Hospice.
