NATCHEZ — Services for James “Buddy Roo” Anderson Jr., 74, of Natchez, who died Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. today at Milford Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Anderson was born Oct. 25, 1942, in Adams County, the son of James Anderson Sr. and Frances Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; two brothers; one sister; one nephew; one granddaughter; one sister-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and uncles and aunts.

Survivors include his wife, Melvia; one son, Frances Kingsberry; two daughters, Valerie Hale and Trena Smoot; four stepchildren, Ursulay Cooke, Yolanda E. Kingsberry; Alexis Kingsberry and Basil D. Kingsberry; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lee Wilbert Anderson and wife, Angela, Issac Anderson and Otis Montrel Anderson and wife, Tomeka; four sisters, Lena Tate, Frances Thomas and husband, Christopher, Diane Holmes and Thelma Jean Rhea; two uncles, Robert Anderson and Luther Thornburg; three aunts, Margaret Kinds, Daisy Brooks and husband, Wardell, and Sarah Lucas; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
