HAMBURG — Services for Nathan Nickelson Sr., 85, who died Wednesday, May 31, 2017, in Meadville, will be noon Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hamburg with the Rev. Carl Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Curtis Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Nickelson was born Feb. 3, 1932, to the late Beadie Langs.
He was employed as a logger and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He enjoyed picking up cans and playing with his great-grandchildren.
Mr. Nickelson was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Hall Nickelson; one son, Hubert Nickelson; one daughter, Lilly Thomas; two brothers; and two granddaughters.
Survivors include eight daughters, Priscilla Smith, Helen Hunter and husband, Jessie, Vivian Hall and husband, Steve, Debra Wilson and husband, Jerry, Mary Nickelson, Sandra Rodgers and husband, Eddie, Dorothy Jackson and husband, Craig, and Brenda NIckelson and husband, Eric; five sons, Albert and wife, Helen, Nathan, Johnny, Arthur and wife, Yolanda, and Tony and wife, Nicoshia; one brother, Benny Nichols; one brother-in-law, Issac Hall; one sister-in-law, Eva Nora Hall; 46 grandchildren; 106 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
