NATCHEZ — Services for Sam Peter Banks, 67, of Natchez, who died Friday, June 16, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Sago officiating.   

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the church.

Mr. Banks was employed by the City of Natchez as a foreman. He was retired.

He enjoyed spending time with family.

Mr. Banks was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Banks Sr. and Percillia Chatman Banks and a set of twins, Samuel and Cynthia Banks.

Survivors include four sons, Kevin Banks and wife, Tina, of South Carolina, Peter Banks Jr. and companion, Veronica, of Atlanta, Patrick Banks and companion, Joyce, and Samuel Banks, all of Natchez; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two godchildren; two sisters, Salina Cobb and husband, Junior, and Barbara Robinson; one special sister, Susie “Doll” Banks; special cousins, Charles Griffin and wife, Jennie Ruth; and a number of other relatives and friends.
