FERRIDAY — Sybil M. Burkhalter Thornhill, of Ferriday, died Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Camelot Leisure Living.

Arrangements are incomplete at Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mrs. Thornhill was born in Mangham, La., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Burkhalter Sr.

She was a talented artist who enjoyed gardening and fishing. She worked in nursing at Baton Rouge General Hospital.

Mrs. Thornhill was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Bruce Thornhill; five brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include one daughter, Angela Spring and husband, James, of Natchez; two grandchildren, Taylor Spring and Matt Spring, both of Natchez; two sisters, Earlie Guttirrez of Central, La., and Berly Gray of West Monroe, La.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
