FERRIDAY — Services for Dwayne Taylor Sikes, 66, of Ridgecrest, who died Wednesday, July 12, 2107, at St. Francis Medical Center in Alexandria, La., will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home Ferriday Chapel with the Rev. Tim Vanier officiating.
Burial will follow at Heard Cemetery in Manifest, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Sikes was born Sept. 20, 1950, in Monroe, La., the son of Charles Abner Sikes and Lena Harrison Sikes.
He retired from International Paper Company with more than 30 years of service. He also served as mayor of Ridgecrest.
Mr. Sikes proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lizzie Sikes; and one brother, Charles Sikes.
Survivors include two sons, Craig Sikes and Danny Sikes, both of Pineville, La.; one daughter, Kimberly McGlothin and husband, Daniel, of Pineville; three stepchildren, Chasity Jordan and husband, Johnny Jr., of Ridgecrest, Michael Buckles of Vidalia and Gerry Dale Buckles Jr. and wife, Carmen, of Frogmore, La.; three brothers, Larry Sikes of Tioga, La., Randy Sikes and wife, Ava, of St. Louis, Mo., and Darrell Sikes of Ridgecrest; nine granddaughters, Heather Sikes, Allison Sikes, Abby Gail Sikes, Isabella Sikes, Reanna Sikes, Madeline Sikes, Molly Thiels, Catherine Buckles and Emma McGlothin; eight grandsons, Jacob Sikes, Damon Sikes, Orlando Buckles, Devin Buckles, Brian Seals Jr., Matthew Buckles, M.J. Buckles and Sebastian Buckles; two great-granddaughters, Paislee Buckles and Bryleigh Buckles; and one great-grandson, Jakob Mouille.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jacob Sikes, Damon Sikes, Orlando Buckles, Devin Buckles, Brian Seals Jr. and Matthew Buckles.
