FAYETTE — Services for Delores Pierce, 71, of Magnolia, who died Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mariah Missionary Baptist Church in Fayette with the Rev. Stanford Cruel officiating.
Burial will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, both at the church.
Ms. Pierce was born June 20, 1946, in Fayette, the daughter of James Pierce Sr. and Henrietta George Pierce.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings, James Pierce Jr., Ellie “Mark” Pierce, Rosa Lee Bouie, Robert Pierce, Evelyn Pierce Collier and William “Bill” Pierce; and three in-laws, Elaine Pierce, Andrew Bouie and Mariam Collier.
Survivors include two sons, John Paul Frye of Atlanta and Darrin Keith Frye and wife, Carol, who she thought of as a daughter, of Suwonee, Ga.; three sisters, Henrietta Nichols and husband, Archie, Della Pierce Watkins and Glinda Brinkley; three sisters-in-law, Hester Mae Pierce, Shirley Pierce and Jackie Pierce; eight grandchildren, Darrin Keith Frye II, Chandler Frye, DeShawn O’Quinn and wife, Tasha, Michelle Spurlock and wife, Shonda, Deloris Curtis and husband, Brandon, John Frye, Myria Clark and Breanna Renee O’Quinn; 12 great-grandchildren; five special friends, Elsie Walters, Betty Jean Tillman, Charles Starks, Louetta Wyatt and Benard Chambliss Sr.; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
