NATCHEZ — A recent addition to the faith community in Natchez is “Togetherness Ministries.” With little more than a year under their belt, husband and wife team, Clarence and Linda White, have been networking with area churches in order to host more than 20 seminars.
“Our ministry is a spiritual ministry working to provide a profound and positive impact on the individuals we serve,” Linda White said. “We use different churches to hold our seminars, but we do not have a church of our own. We really like to move around.”
The ministry meets at least once a month and sometimes twice. They announce their seminars through various media outlets including television, print and radio.
“Anyone who would like to come is welcome,” White said. “All of our events are free and open to the public. We do accept a kind of love offering.”
The driving force behind the ministry is the building and strengthening of relationships. They have planned two seminars in August. Mercy Seat Baptist Church will host the first event, Aug. 12 at 6 p.m. Greater Works Church of God in Christ will host the second event, Aug. 19 at 6 p.m.
“The first seminar, ‘Let us not cast the first stone’ is about Marriage Reconciliation,” White said. “Our second seminar is about having peace in the marriage.”
The ministry has paired with New Direction Worship Center for a youth revival planned for Oct. 28-29. In November, they will host their 2nd Annual Couples Date Night and in December, they will host their 2nd Annual Family Night.
The spiritual leaders involved in the ministry work together to develop skills for couples and their marriage.
“We hope our ministry will help couples and singles to have daily prayer with God,” White said. “ We hope they have deep discussions with their spouses when problems arise and before. We also want to see people having more family-time together.”
