FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Mary Louise Hampton Givens, 85, of Gretna, La., formerly of Ferriday, who died Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, at her residence, will be at noon Saturday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Danny Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Givens was born March 5, 1932, in Gilbert, La., the daughter of John Hampton and Eloise Moore Hampton.

She was a retired food service worker for Concordia Parish School System with 23 years of service. She was also a member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church.

Mrs. Givens is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Sam Givens.

Survivors include one son, Gary Hampton and his wife, Lillie, of Geismar, La.; two daughters, Linda Givens of Gretna and Pamela Jackson and her husband, Roy Sr., of Biloxi; two sisters, Rosa Lee Warner of Vidalia and Faye Thompson Bazley and her husband, Rodney, of Ferriday; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
