The Adams County Christian School Rebels opened up the 2017 season with an impressive 34-7 victory over the Central Hinds Academy Cougars Friday night.

ACCS scored in each quarter and its defense almost pitched a shutout. D.J. Thankfully for him, teammate Julian Wilson recovered it for a touchdown with 33 seconds to go in the first quarter.

DyKevis Ford had a 50-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and M.J. Thornburg added a 44-yard scoring run in the third quarter to give the Rebels a 20-0 lead. Jacob McDaniel threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to D.D. Wright early in the fourth quarter for a 27-0 advantage.
