Trinity Episcopal has announced the hiring of a new head baseball and boys basketball coach.

Moises Rodriguez is taking over the programs, the school announced through a press release, in addition to teaching Spanish and physical education.

“The vision Coach Mo presented for our teams during this search as well as the integrity, versatility and leaderships skills he has displayed during this past month assures me that he is, indeed, the right coach for the Trinity Saints and an excellent addition to our faculty,” Trinity headmaster Christina Daugherty said.

Rodriguez brings a wealth of experience to the position having served more than 12 years as a coach, including in the professional ranks with the Texas Rangers.

Rodriguez also has two years of teaching experience in Texas before moving to Mississippi.

“I love Natchez because of the Southern hospitality and the rich history of the city,” he said.

Rodriguez said he is looking forward to making a positive impact on Trinity students both in athletics and in the classroom.

“I really believe that you can make a difference in a student’s life — inspire them to become a professional athlete or president of the United States,” he said.
