BATON ROUGE — An 18-year-old Natchez man was shot to death Tuesday in Baton Rouge in an apparent robbery.
The Baton Rouge Advocate reports police found the body of Jocquez Ivory, 106 Gaile Ave., at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Scenic Highway in Baton Rouge.
Ivory was pronounced dead at the scene, Baton Rouge Police spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola said.
Ivory’s aunt Safronia Chatman told The Advocate that Ivory graduated from Natchez High School in 2016 and briefly attended Hinds Community College. He also worked for three months as a security guard at the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola.
Chatman said police told her that Ivory was shot eight times while trying to run away during the apparent robbery.
