NATCHEZ — Services for Robert “Jim” Evans, 68, of Jackson, who died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. LeRoy White officiating.

Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Alberta Byrd and Sylvester Byrd Sr.; his father, Charles Evans Sr.; one sister, Annie Marie Evans; six aunts, Dorothy Champ, Thelma Clark, Maple Evans, Annie Baker, Minnie Easton and Catherine Cain; and one uncle, M.C. Mayberry.

Survivors include a devoted daughter, Kimberly Evans; two grandchildren, Evan and Jeremiah, all of Jackson; four sisters, Roberta Beard, Ollie Marsaw, Ada Pinder and Bobbie Byrd; five brothers, Charles Evans Jr., Henry Mayberry, Steve Washington, Darrien Washington and Michael Hawkins; one uncle, John Evans; one aunt, Rosie Lee Fowler; son-in-law, Darrell Hall; ex-wife, Daisy Evans; stepmothers, Madeline Evans and Julia Evans; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
