The Cathedral Green Wave played about as flawless of a game as possible — no turnovers, no penalties, and no punts — and got a strong running and passing game in its 49-14 win over the Amite School Center Rebels Friday night.

Greg Moore had another strong performance to lead Cathedral’s rushing attack with 15 carries for 183 yards and four touchdowns, one of which went for an astonishing 92 yards.

Ben Foster and J.t. Taylor each had solid performances at quarterback. Foster went 6-for-8 for 89 yards while Taylor was 5-for-7 for 86 yards. Caden Poole had eight catches for 127 yards and one touchdown.

Cathedral jumped out to a 21-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and took a commanding 35-6 lead into halftime.

About the only bright spot for Amite School Center (2-2) was its ground game. Brady Milton had 16 carries for 96 yards and McCain Carneige had 11 carries for 77 yards and one touchdown. However, the Rebels turned the ball over three times.

The Green Wave had 470 yards of total offense. Defensively, Tyriek Lee led the way with seven tackles while both Taylor and Ty Bertelsen had one interception.
