The Delta Charter Storm defeated the Lincoln Preparatory School Panthers in dramatic fashion, scoring a touchdown on the final play of the game for a 34-33 comeback win Friday night.

Delta Charter led Lincoln Prep (0-2) 14-0 with 7:32 to go in the second quarter before the Panthers scored 27 consecutive points for a 27-14 lead with 8:58 remaining in the third quarter.

The Storm cut the lead to 27-22 with 7:24 left in the third quarter, but the Panthers responded with a touchdown of its own for what appeared to be a commanding 33-22 lead late in the same quarter.

However, Delta Charter made it a 33-28 game at the 8:54 mark of the fourth quarter and the Storm’s defense pitched a shutout in the quarter, helping its’ amazing victory as time expired.

Delta Charter (2-0) travels to Lake Providence, La. to take on General Trass at 7 p.m. next Friday.
