Mississippi State Trooper Brice Wilkinson works the scene of a two-car wreck at the intersection of U.S. 61 South and Firetower Road. Witnesses at the scene said the driver of a four-door sedan turned off of U.S. 61 South onto Firetower Road and was hit by a pickup truck traveling north on U.S. 61. The driver of the sedan was airlifted to a Jackson hospital with unknown injuries. Two children in the sedan were transported to Merit Health Natchez with unknown injuries. The condition of the truck driver was not available. The cause of the wreck is under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
