City to host cleanup day Saturday

The image of our community is essential in so many aspects, whether it is in the eyes of tourists, business travelers, potential investors or other visitors.  However, in the eyes of the residents of Natchez-Adams County, the image of our community holds the most importance.  Having a positive image of our city is reflective of the pride our community has towards itself.  During the spring and fall pilgrimage, thousands of tourists visit our great city, so it is essential that we portray the best image of our city so they can forever hold the great memories of Natchez, as our local citizens create every day.  This is why this Saturday, Sept. 16 at Memorial Park starting at 8 a.m., the City of Natchez is hosting the Fall Community Cleanup.  This will be a chance for the citizens of Natchez-Adams County to showcase the pride they have for their home and get a chance to improve and enhance the image of our city.

This fall cleanup will be organized slightly differently than it was earlier this year.  On the morning of the cleanup, all volunteers will report to Memorial Park by 9 a.m. to get their cleaning supplies.  From there you will receive information about the areas of town needing the most attention.  After your trash bags are full, consolidate them in one easily accessible location, notify a City employee, and the Department of Public Works will collect the trash.  There will also be prizes from our various local sponsors to be distributed to the volunteers that are the most vigilant! We are so appreciative to our local sponsors Walmart, Keep Mississippi Beautiful and the YMCA that continue to help this community event grow!
