NATCHEZ — Services for Betty Levone Thomas, 67, of Natchez, who died Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Maurice Irving officiating.  

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Thomas was born July 10, 1950, in Hattiesburg, the daughter of William and Mary Lee Singleton.

She was a graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School and Alcorn State University in Lorman.

Mrs. Thomas was employed by AJFC Headstart. She was retired.

She served as youth director, a choir member and a member of the mother’s board. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and socializing with family and friends.

Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ronnie and Lewis Singleton.

Survivors include her husband, Louis Thomas Sr.; six children, Cedric Singleton and wife, Crystal, of Dacula, Ga., Rhonda Thomas of Clinton, Karen Thomas of Baton Rouge, Keisha Taylor and husband, Frank of Clayton, N.J., Angela Carter and husband, Robert, of Natchez and Louis Thomas Jr. and wife, Felicia, of Brandon; 14 grandchildren; three brothers, George Earl Singleton of Natchez, Carlton Singleton of Milwaukee, Wisc., and Eric Singleton and wife, Taran, Seattle, Wash.; seven sisters, Corine Singleton and husband, Steve, Mary Joyce Anglin and Barbara Singleton, all of Milwaukee, Marylin Robinson and husband, S.L., of Austin, Texas, Jane McDonald and husband, Gregory, of Auburn, Wash., Sharon Hunt of Fayette, and Shirley Singleton of Natchez; one aunt, Hattie Stanton of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Terrance Barnes, KeWayne Jones, George Brice, Gregory Gibbs, Donte Gray and Robert Pernell.
