VIDALIA — Services for Chuy Martinez, 48, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, in Jackson, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel in Vidalia, with the Rev. Wes Faulk officiating.

Burial will follow at Martinez Family Cemetery, in Natchez, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 pm. today at the funeral home.

Jesus “Chuy” Martinez was born on Aug. 30, 1969, in Mexico City, Mexico, the son of Casimiro V. Martinez and Octavia C. Martinez.

Chuy came to the United States with his family at the age of 15. At an early age, Chuy and his brothers learned a strong work ethic from their father. At the age of 20, Chuy and his brothers opened their first restaurant. He was always very devoted to his work. In addition to the restaurant business, he also owned and operated a construction company and a roofing business. Chuy loved his sons. He helped coach soccer for a number of years and attended many soccer games. He also followed international soccer and cheered for his home country, Mexico. Chuy was also an uncle and loved his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Survivors include his parents; three sons, Jacob Martinez, Isaac Martinez and Jesus Martinez; three brothers, John Martinez and wife, Vania, Jesse Martinez and Lorenzo Martinez and wife, Priscilla; one sister, Maria Martinez; four nephews, Matthew Martinez, Alex Martinez, Santiago Martinez and Thomas Barton Jr.; and nine nieces, Stephanie Martinez, Nicole Barton, Sarai Martinez, Yzabella Martinez, Katie Barton, Bailey Barton, Mia Martinez, Azul Martinez and Reyna Martinez.

Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Martinez, Jacob Martinez, Dustin Birely, Pascual Corarrobias, Alex Martinez and Essau Mota.

The Martinez family wishes to express their overwhelming gratitude to the entire Miss Lou for their support and patronage at El Ranchero in Vidalia and El Potro in Natchez.
