NATCHEZ — Services for Clara Lee Singleton Byrd, 65, of Natchez, who died Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be noon Saturday at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Cartrell Smith officiating.  

Burial will follow at Skinner Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. today with a celebration of life wake service at 6 p.m.

Visitation will continue Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Byrd was born Aug. 26, 1952, in Natchez, the daughter of Leroy Singleton and Mattie Ware Singleton.

She was a 1970 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School. Before retiring, she was retired by Diamond International and the Adams County Courthouse. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Byrd; one son, Byran Keith Byrd; two brothers, Leon Singleton and wife, Freddie Jean, and Leroy Singleton Jr., all of Natchez; four sisters, Marie Bass, Gloria Jean James and husband, Robert, Geneva Jones and Elaine Singleton, all of Natchez; three grandchildren, Brianiquea, Justice and Chauncey; three great-grandchildren, Alana, Brooklyn and Destin; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
