Jefferson County falls to Class 6A foe Terry

The MHSAA Class 6A Terry High School Bulldogs defeated the Class 3A Jefferson County High School Tigers 20-0 Friday night.
Terry’s defense was strong from start to finish, holding Jefferson County to just five first downs and 136 yards of total offense and forcing three turnovers.
The Bulldogs (4-1) took a 12-0 lead into halftime and scored a touchdown and 2-point conversion in the fourth quarter.
JCHS’ Dominique Gaines had two carries for 50 yards, but quarterback Gailronte Fells struggled against Terry, going just 1-for-11 passing for 11 yards with one interception.
Jefferson County (1-4) is off next week before opening up Region 7-3A action on Friday, Sept. 29 at Port Gibson High School with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
