NATCHEZ — Services for Wardell M. Jefferson, 48, of Natchez, who died Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 2 p.m. today, at Zion Flower Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Robinson officiating.

Burial will follow at Second Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Jefferson was born Oct. 22, 1968, in Adams County, the son of Emmett and Betty Jefferson.

He was preceded in death by his fathers; his grandparents, Ruby Lee Haywood and Dave and Janie Bell Jefferson; two uncles, Leroy Jefferson and Roger Jefferson; one aunt, Gloria Belton; and one cousin, Dorothy Marie Perry.

Survivors include his mother; two brothers, Emmett Lamont Jefferson and wife, Sharon, and Prentiss Jefferson; grandparents Monroe and Vera Elery; 14 aunts and uncles, Dave Jefferson and wife, Exeleana, Jimmie Lee Jefferson, Dorothy Burrell and husband, Willie, Rosie Lee Isaac and husband, Cornelius, Robert T. Jefferson, Josie Jefferson, Fannie L. McClay and husband, Tyrone, Robert Elery, Thomas Elery, Ronnie Elery, Kenny Elery and wife, Penelope, Freddie Woodfork and wife, Inez, Herman Jean Earl and Ernest Woodfork; four nieces, Crystal Martin, Emmitra Jefferson, Jakayla Jefferson and Emmeria Jefferson; one special cousin, Linda Baker and husband, Jimmy; one godsister, Shameka Isaac; and a number of other relatives and friends.
