RIDGECREST — Services for Sharon Arthur Peoples, 79, of Ridgecrest, who died Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, in Baton Rouge, will be 6 p.m. Thursday at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Denny Braswell officiating.    

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mrs. Peoples was born Oct. 28, 1937, in Columbus, Ind., the daughter of Harry Jones and Thelma Jones.

She loved her dogs, Toby, Penny and JoJo, who is deceased.

She and her husband were members of Goldwing Chapter G and enjoyed their RV for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Carno Peoples; one daughter, Janice “Jan” Carroll; one grandson, Derrick Arthur; one granddaughter, Lori Ann Evans; her parenets; and one brother, Larry Jones.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Taber and husband, Brian, of Ankeny, Iowa, and Wendy Brownell and husband, Leon, of Ridgecrest; one son, James Arthur of Houma, La.; two sisters, Sandy Strickland and husband, Strick, of Pensacola, Fla., and Edna Ruth Ernest of Mesa, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, Adam, David, Casey, Stephanie, Rami Jan, Dustin, Matthew, Kara, Christopher and Austin; and three great-grandchildren, Zac, Kenzie and Destin Sophia.
