FAYETTE — Services for Mertis Lee Frye, 74, of Fayette, who died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fayette, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Baptist Church No. 2, in Fayette, with the Rev. Otis Jackson officiating.    

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Thursday at the church.

Mrs. Frye was born Aug. 6, 1943, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Louis and Cora Perryman Frye.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Guy Jr., Edward Vince and Calvin; three sisters, Josie Mae, Helen Ruth and Josephine; and four brothers, Joe Nathan, Leonard James, Ervin and Arthie.

Survivors include two daughters, Geneva Charleston and husband, Melvin, and Barbara Jackson; three sons, Rocky Frye and wife, Jackie, Damen Jackson and wife, Kim, and Charles Frye and wife, Kattie; three sisters,  Ruby, Charlotte and Jean Dell; four brothers, Roosevelt Frye, Melvin Frye, Alonzo Frye and wife, Doretha, and Edward Frye and wife, Ann; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
