NATCHEZ — Services for Sidney Thomas III, 59, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed T. Winford officiating.     

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mr. Thomas was born July 28, 1958, in Adams County, the son of Luther Thomas Sr. and Mary Thomas.

He was a 1975 graduate of South Natchez High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Clark.

Survivors include one daughter, Shaqueda Williams and husband, Jermall Sr.; two grandchildren, Jermall Williams Jr. and Jaida Williams; five brothers, Isaac Thomas and wife, Renee, Luther Thomas Jr. and wife, Della, Vernon Thomas and wife, Beulah, Leon Thomas Sr. and wife, Rosie, and Mack Thomas Sr. and wife, Ollie; four sisters, Sue Weatherspoon and husband, Melvin, Idell Johnson, Corine Davis and Jessie Winford and husband, Ed; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
