NATCHEZ — Power has been restored to approximately 1,100 customers after Entergy crews worked through the night to replace four power poles damaged in a Sunday evening car wreck.
Entergy Customer Service Manager Tim Runnels said crews finished installing power to all but two customers shortly after 7 a.m. Two businesses on the corner of U.S. 61 North and McNeely require additional equipment and some work by the owners to get power restored, Runnels said
Businesses in U.S. 61 North including Natchez Market 2 and CVS have had their power restored.
At approximately 5 p.m. Sunday a car took out two main-line power poles on the corner of U.S. 61 North and North Palestine Road. The force of the wreck damaged two other poles along U.S. 61 North.
Northbound traffic between McNeely Road and Northgate Road was rerouted to allow crews to replace the pole and restring power lines.
“We were able to restore power much earlier than expected,” Runnels said.
