Observe mental health awareness

Mental Health Awareness Week is Oct. 1-7, 2017.  Please reach out to your health care professional to get the help needed. One in five people suffer from a mental illness according to the National Alliance on Mental Health.

Cancer, diabetes, heart problems, gastro issues are not something you can just “get over” without seeking help.  You would go see a specialist for help and a treatment plan.  Mental illness should be treated the same as you cannot just “get over” this either.

Take full care of your body.  If you have a mental illness left untreated it can lead to more health issues as well.  Depression, suicidal thoughts, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and dementia are all more common than you may think.
