NATCHEZ — Memorial services for James Jerome “J.J.” Whitehead, 70, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at his residence, will be announced at a later date.

Mr. Whitehead was born Jan. 28, 1937, in Hamburg, the son of W.H. Whitehead and Gertie V. Norris Whitehead.

He was a member of St. Mary Basilica.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Louise Ferrill Whitehead; two children, Barbara Lynne Whitehead Morgan and Jimmy Whitehead and wife, Kay; two grandchildren, Clay Morgan and wife, April, and W.H. “Henry” Whitehead; niece and nephew, La Né and Lane; one sister, Joyce Dry and daughter, Melody Buchanan; and four great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Tyler, Olivia and Morgan.
