FINDLAY, Ohio — A Mass of Christian Burial for James “Jim” Avery Cole Jr., 72, who died Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at Birchaven Village, Findlay, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family and many caring nurses and aides, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 617 W. Main Cross St., Findlay, with the Rev. Mike Zacharies officiating.
Burial will be private under the direction of Coldren-Crates Funeral Home of Findlay.
Visitation will be 2 and 4 p.m. and 6 and 8 p.m. today at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home.
Mr. Cole was born Oct. 17, 1944, in Natchez, the son of James A. Cole Sr., and Willie Kathryn Allen Cole.
On May 25, 1968, he married Jackie Guillory. He was a 1960 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having servied in the Vietnam War. He retired as a credit manager from Cooper Tire.
He was an avid New Orleans Saints fan, but his greatest joys in life were his wife Jackie Rose, his children and grandchildren. He loved to spend time fishing, working in the yard and polishing his cars.
Cole was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Carolyn Todd.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Cassandra “Cassie” Ohlrich and husband, Kurt, of Findlay; son, James A. “Jace” Cole III and Peter MacIntosh of Chicago; three grandchildren, Cole Ohlrich, Connor Ohlrich and Sydney Cole-MacIntosh; and mother inlaw, Willie May Guillory.
The family would like to thank Bridge Hospice Care and Birchaven aides and nurses for all of the excellent care they provided to Cole
