America Lee Dunbar

FERRIDAY — Services for America Lee Dunbar, 61, of Ferriday, who died at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. LeRoy White officiating.    

Burial with military honors will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church with Eastern Star ceremonies.

Mrs. Dunbar was born in Ferriday, the daughter of Grant and Ruth Keigler Dunbar.

She was retired from the U.S. Army with 22 years of service. She was also a retired school bus driver for Concordia Parish School System.

Mrs. Dunbar was a member of the Star of Love Order of Eastern Star No. 61 of Vidalia and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Percy Dunbar; two sisters, Miranda Mays and husband, Wilford Mays Sr., all of Ferriday, and Alma K. Allen of New Orleans; one grandchild, Delandruis Dunbar of Ferriday; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
