NATCHEZ —Services for Jackie Mae Boggs Pahnka, 83, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at Natchez Rehabilitation and Health Care, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Timmy Cloy officiating.

Burial will follow at Cane Ridge Cemetery in Lorman under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday, both at the funeral home.

Mrs. Pahnka was born Aug. 13, 1934, in Jackson, the daughter of William Hicks Boggs and Minnie Lee Graves.

She was a graduate of Byram High School. Mrs. Pahnka drove a bus from Fayette carrying children to Thomas Jefferson School and then to Adams County Christian School. She worked in the cafeteria at both schools. After her husband died, she went back to ACCS and worked in the day care for a number of years. Mrs. Pahnka was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Earl Pahnka; one brother, Bennie Boggs; and one sister, Billie Lea.

Survivors include two sons, Joey Pahnka and wife, Rachelle, of Natchez, and Ed Pahnka and wife, Angela, of Kaufman, Texas; one sister, Becky Tustain and husband, Pat, of Vicksburg; one sister-in-law, Mary Boggs of Florence; seven grandchildren, Bert Pahnka and wife, Ashley, of Vidalia, Joe Pahnka of Stephenville, Texas, Jacob Pahnka and Brittany Gray, both of Natchez, Braxton Gray and wife, Lindsey, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., Heather Ervin and husband, Richard, of Kaufman, Texas, and Josh Hudson and wife, Sara, of Stephenville, Texas; seven great-grandchildren, Kylie, Paisley and Brooklen Pahnka all of Vidalia, Layton Gray of Natchez, Bennett Gray of Santa Rosa Beach, Jerron Hudson and Hadley Ervin of Kaufman; a number of nieces and nephews whom she loved; and two special friends, Linda Beach and Christine Freeman.

Pallbearers will be Bert Pahnka, Joe Pahnka, Jacob Pahnka, Braxton Gray, Vic Boggs and Leslie Floyd.

Honorary pallbearers will be Buck Beach, Tom Buckley and Eddie Freeman.

A special thanks to all of her caregivers at Merit Health Natchez and Promise Specialty Hospital in Vidalia.
