NATCHEZ — Services for Gertha Jennette Jennings Johnson Koerber, 91, of Natchez, who died Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at Glenburney Nursing Center, will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Barksdale officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 2 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Koerber was born Aug. 23, 1926, in Choctaw County, the daughter of Chalmers Sylvester Jennings and Mary Jane Cummins Jennings.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Laurence Jennings; two sisters, Grace Jennings Sloan and Laura Faye Jennings Weeks; two husbands, Forrest A. Johnson Sr. and Ollie W. Koerber; and two children, John David Johnson and Fred Laurence Johnson.
Survivors include one sister, Allene Stephenson and husband, Bernard, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one son, Forrest A. Johnson Jr. and wife, Deborah Ann, of Natchez; eight grandchildren, Forrest A. Johnson III and wife, Julie, and Katie McCabe and husband, Bubba, all of Natchez, Chad Johnson and wife, Amy, of Brookhaven, Maj. Jay Johnson and wife, Amanda, of Madison, Andrew Johnson and wife, Jodi, of Woodville, Spc. Alex Johnson of Fort Eustis, Va., Aaron Johnson Hale of Memphis, Tenn., and Col. Terry Johnson and wife, Myra, of Matthews, Va.; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Forrest A. Johnson III, Chad Johnson, Jay Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Alex Johnson and Bubba McCabe.
