DERIDDER, La. — A memorial service for Williard Earl “Bubba” Reid Jr., 62, of Longville, La., will be 2 p.m. today at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, La.

Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.

Bubba was born in Natchez, the son of Willard Earl Reid Sr. and Betty Jean Mullins Reid.

He lived most of his life in Vidalia and for the past 20 years, he lived in Longville. He was a retired carpenter and enjoyed painting, drawing and playing his guitar.

Mr. Reid was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served a tour of duty in South Korea.

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Thomas Reid; one grandson, Clay Reid; and one nephew, Casey Compala.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Patricia Ann Reid; two sons, Gregory Aaron Reid of Longville and Robert Jefferson Reid and wife, Trina, of DeQuincy, La.; one daughter, Jennifer Eaves and husband, Bobby, of Ragley, La.; his mother, Betty Jean Skaggs of Longville; two sisters, Ann Cathy of Ponchatoula, La., and Edit Fontenot of Longville; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
