NATCHEZ — Natchez residents may voice their opinions Monday on the transfer of the bean field to the Natchez-Adams School District.

A public hearing on the issue will be at 4 p.m. Monday in the City Council Chambers on 115 S. Pearl St.

Tuesday night, aldermen voted unanimously in support of donating the property adjacent to the current Natchez High School to the school district for construction of a new high school.

The 5-0 vote did not officially transfer the property, however, as the vote was a non-binding resolution expressing the board’s support of the land transfer. Aldermen Dan Dillard walked out of the meeting before the vote was taken.
