NATCHEZ — Services for Catherine “Sallie” Fields Flowers, 88, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, at her residence, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Flowers was born Dec. 9, 1928, in Natchez, the daughter of Luther J. Fields and Blanche Brown Fields.
She was a member of St. Mary Basilica where she served as a greeter for a number of years. Mrs. Flowers was also a member of the Daughters of American Revolution. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, walking and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Denver Flowers Sr.; one son, Carl Denver Flowers Jr.; two sons-in-law, Donald B. Adams Sr. and Phillip R. Smith; and nine siblings.
Survivors include four daughters, Margaret Adams of Alexandria, Ind., Carla Lyden and husband, Jerry, of Lewisville, Texas, Anne Staples and husband, Mike Voorheis, of Haslett, Mich., and Mary Flowers of Natchez; nine grandchildren, Kristen Halter and husband, Ernie, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., Donnie Adams and wife, Braniken, of Gaston, Ind., Sean Lyden and Brendan Lyden, both of Lewisville, Karrie Staples of Haslett, Denver Hoggatt of Salt Lake City, Utah, Elena Romero, Eliza Romero and Mia Romero, all of Natchez; two great-granddaughters, Layla Halter and Lucy Halter of Mt. Juliet; and a number of loving nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Adams, Jerry Lyden, Sean Lyden, Brendan Lyden, Denver Hoggatt and John Hoggatt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Fields, Chuck Fields, Fred Eberhardt, Rick Eberhardt, Louis Fields and Brown Fields.
The family would like to thank Gloria Ann Brady and Christine Bassett for their loving care of our mother, “Miss Sallie”.
