MANGHAM, La. — Byron Milligan had 227 yards of total offense and four total touchdowns as the Ferriday Trojans took care of the Mangham Dragons 48-0 Friday night to stay in the LHSAA District 2-2A title hunt.
Milligan completed six of eight passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. He also had nine carries for 58 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
But he wasn’t the only player to shine for Ferriday (6-2, 3-1), ranked No. 2 in the Class 2A power ratings and No. 9 in the LSWA Class 2A poll, against a Mangham team that went into this game ranked No. 8 in the LSWA Class 2A poll and No. 14 in the Class 2A power ratings. The Dragons fell to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in district play.
Da’minya Milligan had 11 carries for 150 yards and three touchdowns. Dantrieze Scott had three catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns to go with seven tackles, two of them for a loss, and one sack.
The Trojans, who racked up 422 yards of total offense, jumped out to an 18-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and never looked back. They were up 32-0 at halftime and 48-0 at the end of the third quarter. Dare Rosenthal had seven tackles, two of them for a loss, and two sacks while Tevyn Byrd had six tackles, three for a loss, to go with three sacks.
The only thing that slowed down the Trojans was penalties. Ferriday was penalized 13 times for 95 yards.
Ferriday plays host to district newcomer Delhi Charter School next Friday at 7 p.m. for homecoming.
