NATCHEZ — Services for William Johnson, 84, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at his residence, will be noon Wednesday at Jefferson Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Barksdale officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a. m until service time Wednesday at the church.
Mr. Johnson was born June 18, 1933, in Jefferson County, the son of Eva Pearl Johnson. He was a longtime member of Jefferson Street United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother and special friends, Sheriff Billy Ferrell, Dr. Hugh Tedder, Dr. Oscar Loflin and Bob Bonds.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ann Elizabeth “Mimi” Reed Johnson; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann “Betsy” Abraham and husband, Danny S.; one son, William W.”Butch” Johnson and wife, Missi; seven grandchildren, D. Reed Abraham and wife, Laura, J. Bart Abraham and wife, Jade, W. Spence Abraham and wife, Linzy, A. Madison Johnson Stampley and husband , Eric, Andrew G. Johnson, Sydney E. Eidt and James A. “Jae” Eidt; five great-grandchildren, Ally Reece Stampley, Mary Grace Abraham, Dannie Strickland Abraham, William Conner Abraham and Reese Brewer Abraham; faithful neighbors, Carl and Glenda Voss, Prentiss and Gwen Graves, Otto and Gloria Dukes, Maureen Irby and the late Elmo Irby; faithful friends from Feltus Brothers Hardware, Nicky Myers, John Cloy, Hal House, Kenny Bush, Lonnie Melton, Steve Randolph, Dix Doering and Ann Perry.
Pallbearers will be D. Reed Abraham, J. Bart Abraham, W. Spence Abraham, Andrew G. Johnson, Eric N. Stampley and James “Jae” Arthur Eidt III.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Barrett, Bryant Reed, Travis Fulton, Tommy West and Jim Mullins.
