VICKSBURG — A celebration of life service for Carolyn Rebecca Jones, 80, who was lovingly called “Becky” by her family and who died Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at the Oak Ridge Community Center on Oak Ridge Road in Vicksburg.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cremation Society of Virginia, Richmond, Va.

Mrs. Jones was born Nov. 7, 1936, in Vicksburg, the daughter of George M. Brent and Geneva Hearn Brent. She lived a majority of her life in Tulsa, Okla.

Carolyn was employed by and retired from Tulsa County Treasurer’s Office, creating many lasting friendships along the way. In her retirement, she moved to St. Marys, Ga., and spent most of her time gardening, quilting and spending time with family. She also enjoyed many opportunities to travel back “home” to Vicksburg.

She was a loving mother and adoring grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Luther Jones; seven children, Michael, Phyllis, Naomi, Evan, Rhonda, Rachal and Jason; two stepsons, Steve and Keith; six siblings, Betty Lou, Linda, Billy, Jesse, Verna and John Harvey; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
