A proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Jean taught us every day what family meant. She showed us the beauty of treating each other with kindness and love; the power of sitting around a table and sharing a home cooked meal; and the importance of doubling over with laughter whenever possible. She poured her heart into caring for her children, grandchildren and other relatives around her.
She was an active and devoted member of the Primitive Baptist Church before her sickness. The friendships that evolved from her church family were always an important part of her life. She loved and cherished these friends, and she was equally loved by them. Her warm and caring personality touched the lives of many.
Mrs. McPhail is preceded in death by her husband, Joe McPhail, her parents; her brother, Douglas Arthur; and sisters, Pauline Golden, Katherine Wilcher and Barbara Olsen.
Survivors include her sister, Linda Beach; her two daughters, Terri Todd and Twana Crenshaw and husband, Edwin; her four grandchildren, Corinne McNamara and husband, Reeve, Barrot Lambdin and wife, Heena, Bryan Todd and Yancey Todd; and her five great grandchildren.
