MONTEREY — Services for Darryl Mitchell Carter, 60, of Monterey, who died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Monterey Church of Christ with Jason Sparks and Cindy Robinson officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Mr. Carter was born April 19, 1957, in Jonesville, the son of Charlie Mitchell Carter and Helen Summerall Simpson.

He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his friends and family.

Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Deloice Mott Carter; two daughters, Misty Cousin of Monterey and Heather Vidrine and husband, Bret, of Lafayette, La.; three grandsons, Bransen Cousin, Carter Cousin and Vance Vidrine; one granddaughter, Ayla Cousin; one brother, Noble Simpson III and wife, Kalinda, of Ball, La.; stepfather, Noble Simpson Jr. and wife, Peggy, of Wildsville, La.; and a number of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Simpson, Dewayne Carter, Paul Carter, Jimmy Pecanty, Clay Mott and Bret Vidrine.

Honorary pallbearers will be Royce Mott, Johnny Mott, Glen Book, Jody Jones, Nelda Mott and Harold Foret.
