NATCHEZ — Services for Delilah Eidt Beesley, 72, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. today at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Beesley was born Dec. 16, 1944, in Natchez, the daughter of Andrew Hall Eidt and Edna Cagle Eidt.

She was a member of St. Mary Basilica.

Mrs. Beesley served as cafeteria manager at Cathedral School for more than 25 years where she created many lasting friendships along the way. She was a 1962 graduate of Cathedral School. She was a loving wife, mother, and an adoring “Mi-Maw” to her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Andrew Hall Eidt Jr., Arthur Eidt and Sammy Eidt; and one sister-in-law, Laura Eidt.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Walter Beesley Jr.; one daughter, Tammy McCurley and husband, David, of Vicksburg; one son, Walter “Lance” Beesley and wife, Marissa, of Natchez; four grandchildren, Peyton McCurley and Braxton McCurley, both of Vicksburg, Levi Beesley and Tessa Beesley, both of Natchez; one brother, Andrew Eidt; two sisters, Phyllis Barrett and Sue Beesley and husband, Ken; three sisters-in-law, Prissy Eidt, Carolyn Eidt Myers and Joy Beesley Cooper and husband, Mike; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Peyton McCurley, Ken Beesley Jr., Craig Beesley, Chad Lipscomb, Paul Eidt, Justin Dollar, Adam Dollar and Collin Dollar.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary Basilica or Cathedral School.
